Natural Ways to Boost Your Mood

Mood can have a big impact on our daily lives. It makes sense because it changes our thoughts, our perceptions of what happens, and how we treat others.

Therefore, being positive and in a good mood can help in everyday life.

If you feel apathetic, lacking enthusiasm to do something, you are irritable, melancholic, sad for no reason, tired, unwilling to get out of bed, or feel the need to argue with everyone, it may be time to take advantage of some remedies.

Sports and exercising

Exercising, especially outdoors, is a great way to improve your mood.

You will get rid of all the negative feelings that have accumulated, release tension and stress, you will feel tired physically, not mentally.

And if that’s not enough for you, don’t forget that you can also lose weight, lower your cholesterol and avoid heart problems.

Exercise for at least half an hour a day. If you discipline yourself, you will be able to do what you really like, what makes you happy.

Eat garlic

Garlic is an excellent home remedy for many ailments. Think about adding it to your daily meals.

Do what you love

Do you play musical instruments well, write poems or draw pictures? Make sure you dedicate time to your hobby!

You may prefer to read a book or play with your children. Everything that makes you happy is suitable: make a delicious dinner for your loved one, go to a spa, visit a museum or walk barefoot on the grass.

It is important to get out of your routine, clear your mind and feel happy.

Sleep eight (full, continuous) hours

Lack of sleep is one of the main causes of a bad mood, stress, and depression. If you don’t get enough sleep every night, chances are you’ll react badly the next morning to anything that happens or anyone bad at talking to you (at least you’ll think it’s bad).

Try to get 8 hours of sleep a day and, if possible, also take a short break in the day.

Do not try to use the weekend to restore all the sleep you missed from Monday to Friday. Remember that while fatigue and exhaustion are cumulative, rest is not.

Try to go to bed and get up at the same time every day, including the weekend.

Nutrients and mood

Did you know that a lack of certain nutrients can contribute to a bad mood or irritability? It would be a good idea to take more of the following nutrients:

Selenium

You can get this nutrient from whole grains, certain types of fish (such as salmon and hake), seeds, and garlic.

Iron

Iron deficiency causes anemia, which in turn affects mood. Eat more lentils and other legumes a week.

Omega-3

The most important source of omega-3 fatty acids is fatty fish, namely salmon, and tuna. Eat them three times a week, without frying, but always steaming or grilling.

Vitamin B

This vitamin is important for the nervous system. It also helps to improve metabolism. You can find B vitamins in lentils, spinach, seeds, cereals, and fish.
