From toys now being able to be created and printed at a fraction of comparable major name store costs or outlets such as Wal-Mart, to weapon technology, and now prosthetic limbs!</p>
<p>A most recent project, conducted by Rockhill <a  href="http://www.3dsystems.com" rel="external nofollow">3D Systems</a> in North Carolina coined “The Derby Project” provided not one, but two sets of prosthetic legs for a K-9 whom genetically did not grow out his front two paws and was otherwise unable to regularly walk, stand, or run without such an innovation and physical support.</p>
<p>While the first Derby Project proved effective but undesirable due to not assuring Derby an up-right enough position, Rockhill 3-D systems created a second pair, with knee-joint like capacity and structure, with hard industrial grade plastic in which were designed to enforce the equivalent height of his rear legs so that each pair were matching in size and ultimately “strength”.</p>
<p>Given the incredibly swift pace of continued 3D printing technology, especially in places like China, many industries are intimidated as now houses too are being proven to be successfully built (produced) using CNC-like cutting industrial-sized machines through the usage of alternative materials—although comparable if not superior in strength and reliability when comparing them to stone, brick, and other types of concrete and even metal foundations.</p>
<p>Although 3D printing technology is still considerably relatively “new”, they are becoming more and more affordable and desirable for various projects! In fact, it’s anticipated within the next 3-5 years that (mobile) 3-D printers will be a must-have for many mechanics and construction workers or laborers as they can build much needed parts—and even tools—while on the go or at a project site, often within under an hour for small projects and under a day for larger projects!</p>
<p>The creation of 3-D tools, products, and many other miscellaneous projects rely heavily on preprogrammed 3D printing schematics or “blue-prints” commonly available for free or at extremely affordable costs via the internet—at any time! Many 3D printers also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities to receive such vital digital data with desirably efficient—and competitive—speed.</p>
<p>In other recent news, 3-D printers continue to grow and show more and more their capacity for mass-producing of reliable, safe, convenient, and even comfortable furniture products! People crave technology and the ability to create their own products because it allows them to have the ability to ‘customize’ whatever it is they’re looking to create, allowing them to custom-tailor every inch, shape, design, corner, and even color!</p>
<p>As of recently, Home Depot recently started aggressively marketing a fairly “simple” yet very durable and reliable 3-D printer for under $400 for printing and making toys, alternative tools, and other forms of foundation (manufacturer grade) materials for taking to, from, or installing at job-sites. Considering the more frequent use of “cheaper” materials in most modern construction, people are turning to 3D printing as a more practical, customizable, and trustworthy solution.</p>
<p>The question of “how” seems to be much less likely in comparison to “when” 3D printing technology will cross-advance and be recognized on a consistent globally reliable level for industrial-grade construction and usage!</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The year 1926 witnessed the opening of hotel Fort Harrison at Clearwater in Florida. Although it has gained much reputable a position in the past, it needed a renovation during the 1970s. <p>All they needed was a model of Fort Harrison, but the time was limited to a month&#8217;s duration. Only solution that could be thought of was quick prototyping. What made the entire process easy and smooth is the 3D CAD model of Fort Harrison that they had handy. For the accomplishment of the task, it was the owners who called for EMS, who, in turn, made use of Z Corp 3D printers so as to carry out the process. The printers work by putting one layer over the other until the process is completed.</p>
<p>The 3D printing, thus is immensely useful in creating models when time is limited. It would have been impossible if the owners thought of hiring manual labor to construct the model. After the printing was done, EMS prepared to bronze plate the model since the owners desired the elegant look.</p>
<p>The usefulness of these 3D printers is yet unknown to many. Some are doubtful about its value. Had the 3D printers not been available, the owners would have to play down the need and desire to arrange the reopening with the model of Fort Harrisonl. Thanks to 3D printing that owners of Fort Harrison could not only bring up a model, but an elaborately detailed model of Fort Harrison to impress the audience during the grand occasion. The most amazing fact is that the complete work of producing the model could be accomplished within just a week. It could not have been practicable with any other method.</p>

Many do not still know the fact that such a technology exists. Even if they are at all aware of the fact, they know least about the development that has taken place in the field without having come in contact with the industries concerning this.</p>
<p>Those who wish to visit the festival Burning Man, would without doubt come to know about the working and capacities of this technology even when it is working with the 3D scanner.</p>
<p>The people who would attend the festival are to be taken into the dome. There they are to be 3D scanned. Until the results are displayed, they are to be given the transponder with which they can go ahead and enjoy the festival. It must be mentioned that the transponder is very similar to those that are given to the people while they are waiting for the order placed at a hotel or restaurant. The transponders would buzz when the process is complete, and when they walk back, they will be offered their own 3D prints in the dome.</p>
<p>The scanning is done with Kinect technology and any proper software can enable a PC connectivity of these 3D scanners. The print would exactly replicate the bodies with every curve and fold.</p>
<p>ReAllocate has set up the dome. It is bent upon showing the functionalities of 3D scanning so that the interested people may take this up for their business.The dome will leave for the financially challenged sections of America following the festival, Burning Man.</p>
<p>But the question pertains to how pragmatic would it be totake up the technology as one’s business? People would most essentially need innovative concepts to scan and edit for the purpose of printing. The open source software, the CAD softwarecan send the CAD design for printing. The only thing that is required in a computer is a high capacity hardware and storage. The Kinect scanner comes at a cost of $200 while open source software can be obtained free. The printers come with a starting cost of about $800. But the burden can be reduced to about $400 by assembling the various parts ofRep rap printer.</p>
<p>The huge amount may stand as a hindrance, but paying in groups to initiate a business can be comparatively cheaper as measured against the future profits that it would bring.</p>

However with passing time not only is <strong>3D printing </strong>technology being used by a number of industries, it is also finding increasing application in high end research in the field of archaeology and health care. The latest use of <strong><a title="rapid prototyping" href="http://www.ems-usa.com" rel="external nofollow">3D printing</a> </strong>was in the reconstruction of the skull of a long deceased Jewish settler in the St Maarten islands in the Caribbean.  Not much was known about the earliest Jewish settlers in the Caribbean. However when archaeologist stumbled upon a non- descript and unknown cemetery in St Maarten’s did the researchers came to know that the Jewish community had settled in the islands as early as the discovery of the New World.<span id="more-493"></span></p>
<p>When the New World was discovered by Christopher Columbus, there was a mad scramble to colonize these lands by the British, Portuguese and the Spanish. The Dutch had established a colony in St Maarten. Along with Dutch, a lot of Jewish Settlers also landed on the islands to escape persecution in mainland Europe.  Most of cemeteries of the Catholic and the Protestant communities were well known; the Jewish cemeteries were lost with the passage of time and were soon forgotten. It was only when an enthusiastic group of historians were trying to unearth the history of the Jewish Settlers in St Maarten stumbled upon a Jewish Cemetery did they finally had the conclusive proof that the earliest settlers in the island included Jewish settlers also. The cemetery was located in a populated part of the city and it was not possible to unearth all the remains. However the archaeological experts were able to extract one skeleton.</p>
<p>The authorities wanted to showcase the contributions made by the Jewish community down the history of St Maarten. The archaeological department wanted to give a realistic and life -like image, rather than displaying the skull of the long dead settler. This is where the 3D printing service comes to the picture. 3D printing service has been playing a big role in forensic science by reconstruction of dead persons from the skeleton remains. The authorities from the archaeological department in St Maarten enlisted the help of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department in the United States to reconstruct the face of the dead settler. Once the face was reconstructed by 3D printing service and hardened with resin, it was painted and is today on display in Saint Maarten as a testimony of the earliest settlers to the island.</p>

Well the larynx was made using <strong>3D printing</strong> technology. The same technology which was fiction in the movie has become a reality. <strong>3D printing</strong> is being used to recreate the parts of fossils without being handled, when the risk of accidental destruction is always there. Most Paleontology research institution has to queue for long periods before they are able to get their hands on the fossils for study. <strong><a title="3d Scanner" href="http://www.ems-usa.com" rel="external nofollow">3D printing</a></strong> will enable them to make exact replicas so that they are able to do their research without bothering for the real fossils.<span id="more-398"></span></p>
<p>In earlier times most of the replicas which one saw in the museum was plaster casts of the fossils. However manufacture of the plaster cast itself was a very tricky process and there is always a risk of the fossils getting damaged during the process of making the cast.  However today it is much simpler due to the invention of the <strong>3D printing</strong> process. All you have to do is to take a 3D picture of the fossil using a MRI scan or some other diagnostic tool. This is then fed into a computer and the 3D printer will create an accurate and robust replica of the fossil. The 3D printers of present times use a variety of materials including calcium carbonate. So you can have a dinosaur bone much akin to the composition of the original bone.</p>
<p>In the coming times we will be able to see a lot of fossils being replaced I museums using the 3D technology. With the easy availability of 3D scanners it is even possible to create the exact replica of the fossil, even if it is buried many feet below the soil. One of the biggest problems with fossils is that they are easily destroyed by the vagaries of the nature, if they are exposed to air or water. 3D technology will allow the fossils to be scanned and the exact replica created so that the fossil is immediately covered up and protected from the atmospheric degradation.</p>
<p>3D technology is finding new and varied uses in many fields especially in the medical and healthcare field. Often medical institutions are hampered by the shortage of bodies where the doctors could learn the intricacies of human body, its organs and also fine tune their surgical skills. 3D technology can come to their rescue and can make the exact replica of the human body where the future doctors can fine tune their skills.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A lot has been said about <strong>3D printing</strong>, though the knowledge about the technology among the common population can be best described as sketchy and mysterious or terribly less. Often people view the technology as something fiendish and unholy. <strong><a title="rapid protoyping" href="http://www.ems-usa.com/rapid_prototyping.php" rel="external nofollow">3D printing</a></strong> essentially involves a printer which prints in 3 dimensions. The common printer prints only in two dimensions and is not able to envisage the depth of any object. With the 3D technology, it is possible to create any copy of any object with special printing materials. In earlier times only a few objects and prototypes could be created since the printing material was limited. However with the latest advancement in 3D technology , a large array of materials are being used which includes plastics and even metallic powder which can be heated or shredded with laser guns to get any desired shape. The technology is very accurate and even the most intricate designs could be created.<span id="more-372"></span></p>
<p>3D printers were first used in premium industries such as AeroSpace and defence. The high cost was primarily responsible for the slow spread of the technology. However with the advent of cheaper printers, the technology is increasingly finding varied use. The most exciting branch in which the technology is finding use is medicine and healthcare.</p>
<p>One of the most widespread uses of <strong>3D printing</strong> technology is in the making of prosthetic aids. Take for example a person who had his legs amputated. By feeding the 3D image of the stump, the head of the artificial limb can be fashioned in a much better way so that it fits snugly into the stump with the help of 3D printers. The same is the case with hearing aids which can be better prepared by having a 3D picture of the eardrum. In coming times 3D printers will be creating artificial joints of the hip. Material which are inert and more compatible and less prone to rejection by the body will be used to create these joints.</p>
<p>3D technology is also being used to create models of human organs so that future Physicians and Surgeons can study and do operative procedures in a better way. This will also help to get over the acute shortage of bodies which are usually faced by the medical institutions. However this is nothing as compared to what the future holds for <strong>3D printing</strong> technology. In future 3D printers will be creating tissues like cartilage, bones and even blood vessels. <p><strong>3D printers</strong> as the latest in <strong>rapid prototyping</strong> technology are used by many car companies, including VW to design and develop cars and parts in cars.</p>
<p>Such <strong>3D printers</strong> allow designers to print prototype parts direct from 3D CAD files to be tested and used in larger prototypes and also scale models. In the past prototypes would be hand made and often of a much less versatile foam or similar, they would also take a team of <strong>rapid prototyping</strong> model makers a day or so to complete usually: holding up production.</p>
<p>VW are one such car company who have benefitted from using <strong>3D printers</strong>, which are supplied to them by 3D systems, they are now though putting their <strong>rapid prototyping</strong> technology into the hands of customers.</p>
<p>Customers don’t all want exactly the same car and there are thousands of different iterations of VW’s Polo model. In a brochure different options can be added such as different body shapes and colors but they can’t easily be seen all at once.</p>
<p>The <strong>rapid prototyping</strong> printers that VW used to develop the latest Polo are from 3D Systems’ Z Corporation division, a company they recently took over. The Z printer offering from Z Corporation is a full color 3D printer as well meaning full color models can be printed with any design on them with full detail. VW are now giving customers the chance to get their designs made.</p>
<p>Through VW’s Polo Principles website customers can create any design they want with a clever but easy to use online tool: they can then click ‘Build my Polo’ to enter their design into a competition where the best 40 designs will be printed on the Z Printer to be sent to their designers as their own physical prototype.</p>
<p>Out of those 40 prototypes VW will also make one into reality, no matter how wacky the design is, and the designer will themselves get to drive it for two months before Polo use it in other promotional events and potentially even advertising.</p>
<p>VW claim they are democratizing ‘one of the innovations that make the innovations’ with this competition and 3D systems as well believe that <strong>3D printers</strong> real potential is as a disruptive technology, available to everyone and for much more than <a title="Rapid prototyping services" href="http://www.ems-usa.com/rapid_prototyping.php" rel="external nofollow">Rapid Prototyping</a>.</p>
<p>In the future <a title="3D Printing Service" href="http://www.ems-usa.com" rel="external nofollow">3D Printers</a> will increasingly be used for manufacturing either finished products or parts to actually be used by the people who print them who may have a 3D printer at home or use one at a local 3D printing service.</p>
<p>Some companies may fear the coming of such a disruptive technology but VW clearly embrace it; the value of their intellectual property though will become increasingly what is important: especially when they can sell designs for spare parts that people can then have made up locally or even have local service centers and dealers equipped to make parts on demand: saving VW from having to have a network of parts centers stocking endless parts.</p>

<p>Stereolithography is a <strong>3D print service</strong> technique which employs the use of photo polymerization to create a solid object from a liquid material. A process termed as digital light processing exposes liquid polymer to light emitted from a DLP projector. Digital light processing is done under safe light conditions. The vat of polymer gets hardened due to the exposure. Small portions of the build plate are removed to expose more of the liquid polymer to light. This procedure is repeated till the entire object has been completed. Draining the liquid polymer from the vat leaves behind the solid object. One such example of the digital light processing rapid prototyping system is the ZBuilder Ultra.</p>
<p>In the Objet PolyJet <strong>3D print service</strong> system, an inkjet printer sprays ultra-thin layers of photopolymer material, one layer at a time, until the object is completed. The layers are approximately 16 micron in thickness. Immediately after a layer is jetted, it gets cured by ultraviolet light, in order to build models that do not need post curing treatment. These models can come into immediate use. The supporting material has a gel-like nature, to be able to support complex geometry. It is removed mechanically and/or by water jetting. This method can also be applied to elastomers.</p>
<p>When it comes to <strong><a title="3D Printer Service | 3D Printing Service" href="http://www.ems-usa.com" rel="external nofollow">3D print service</a></strong> of ultra-small features, multiphoton photopolymerization is a highly useful procedure. It is primarily employed for 3D micro fabrication purposes. In this technique, a focused laser traces out the object in a block of gel. Curing of the gel for solidification is done in only those parts which are subjected to the focus of the laser, since the photoexcitation exhibits a nonlinear nature. The excess gel is then washed away. Parts that are smaller than 100 nm can be easily fabricated with the help of this process, besides the construction of moving/ interlocked parts.</p>
<p>Another approach to <strong><a title="3D Printing Service" href="http://www.rapidprototypingservices.info/" rel="external nofollow">3D printing service</a></strong> is the use of LEDs to solidify a synthetic resin. So far, inkjet printing is the most economic technique. It does not have the requirement of toxic chemicals like in the Stereolithography procedure. The printer itself is sufficient to clear away the powder that is left behind. In order to strengthen bonded powder prints still further, wax can be used. Another alternative is thermoset polymer impregnation.</p>
