Harpsichord is one of the most beautiful and richly decorated instruments. The sophisticated shape of the body of harpsichord, reminiscent of the wing of the bird, was often adorned with magnificent painting and incrustation of precious wood, and subsequently moved to the piano.

In the 15th and 18th centuries, this instrument became very popular in England, France and Italy. In these countries there were well-developed composing and performing schools. The harpsichord sounded there as a solo and ensemble instrument. Among the harpsichord-composers are the well-known names of W. Bjord, J. Chambonier, F. Cooperien, J. F. Ramo, D. Scarlatti. At the end of the XVIII century. due to the lack of melodic, prolonged sound, the harpsichord began to go out of use.

Another forerunner of the piano was a clavichord – string strike instrument. Compared to the harpsichord, the sound of the keyboard was rather mild. The tool was distributed in the XV-XIX centuries. and was used predominantly in solo chamber music.

Today, the harpsichord and clavichord can be found in museums and hear at concerts of ancient music.
In the XVIII century, in about 1709 – 1711, the Italian master Bartolomeo Christopher created a piano. Interesting is the fact that almost simultaneously this instrument was also invented by Jean Marius in France and Gottlieb Schrieb in Germany. The very first models of the piano, in comparison with modern instruments, sound more subtle and tender. The new tool provided the opportunity to diversify the power and character of the sound depending on the quality of the impact (touch) to the key.

The demand for the piano constantly increased and this led to the appearance of the XVIII century piano factories.

Modern instruments are quite sonorous and powerful and can sometimes function as a whole orchestra. Previously, the sound was limited by the design of a wooden frame, on which the strings were attached. The tree is not as solid material as metal. Therefore, a real revolutionary invention was the use by the Americans in 1850 of a cast-iron frame that could withstand a load of 30 tons. It enriched the sound of the instrument and made it possible to make the play of pianists virtuoso.

The park project was proposed by the “father of modern Philadelphia” Edmund Bacon, who conceived it while still a student in 1932. He realized his idea only in 1957, with the support of the then-mayor of Philadelphia. Construction lasted 8 years and ended in 1965. The park was designed as the final stop for Benjamin Franklin boulevard and was named former US President John F. Kennedy.

It would have been so if in the late sixties the city authorities had not decided to decorate the park with a sculpture. Attention was drawn to the work of Robert Indiana with the simple name “LOVE”, by that time it had already gained popularity in various media and was printed on postage stamps. But, performance wise, concert grand definitely scores over others as it produces the best true harmonics. 2. For Twaf, one has to enter the famous Grand Holy Mosque in Mecca. Get into the holy mosque with the right foot first inside entering through the Bab-as-Salam Gate of the Kaaba, and while doing so continue being in a state of prayer and penance, which would help you do the Twaf well

3. The Twaf starts from the well respected Hijr-e-Aswad also known as the Black Stone. One has to do this in an anti-clockwise direction. While doing so, the Talbiyah has to be recited.

4. Once this is done, a round of two hills, the safa and the marwah needs to be completed, this is called Sa’i, which is an important step in Umrah. It is over here that very important verses of the Holy Quran are recited, while standing.

5. Hair is cut only when the Sa’i is completed and some men shave their heads or shorten it. Women can shorten their hair up to two centimetres as per the requisition. Cutting of the hair symbolises the fact that the pilgrims have made penance and repented for their sinful ways of living.

The Umrah thus is a way of penance and one that bestows the innocence of a child back into the souls of the pilgrims upon completion.

Purkinje was born in the year 1787, and is famous for Purkinje’s images and Purkinje’s cells. The Czech nationalist, Purkinje was regular in participating in the scholarly thinking. A huge number of subjects grabbed his attention. Few of the works of Shakespeare have also been translated into Czech by him.

Purkinje had an inventive and innovative approach which made him go through experimenting on his body a number of times. The Breslau University, in Prussia, had its first department of physiology started by Purkinje. What fascinated him more was sight on which he tried numerous drugs in order to study the effect on vision. Belladonna was his favorite.

He made a revolutionary contribution to development and advancement of the ophthalmic equipment. The cells he discovered were named Purkinje’s cells which are neurons or nerve cells in the cortex of cerebral cortex. There are a number of branches coming out of these cells. The Purkinje fibers, also found by him, are tissues in the ventricular chamber of human heart. This acts as the pacemaker. It was he who had found the sweat glands or germinal vesicles and also discovered that finger prints can be used for identification.

To simply say that he had sound knowledge in physiology would be an understatement. Purkinje always showcased an interest in exploring the body along with its functions. This may be one reason why his influence was strong in development of the ophthalmic equipment. He studied the body in a number of ways.

He aso discovered that Purkinje’s cells are among the largest of the neurons. They are complex cells having numerous dendritic spines. The malformation of such cells in humans can affect the perceptibility of people in determining their distance from the objects.

Another significant discovery is Purkinje’s images. These are reflections of the objects from the structures in the eyes. This also inspired the creation and development of the ophthalmic equipment in a number of ways.

Purkinje shift that was also discovered by Purkinje, describes the change in the brightness of the blue and the red colors as the light becomes less intense with dusk every day.

He had also been a very early adopter of compound microscope. Purkinje died in the year 1868.

Even though the term first surfaced in the seventies, it’s still in use. It was predominately used as a way for teens to blatantly talk about pot smoking in front of adults. However, most adults now know this term, so it’s not exactly the best covert code. Likewise, many of the myths about the moniker are just that. 420 isn’t a police code or anything like that.

Even though 420 has been embraced by the pot smoking community, it’s also used by people who use vaporizers and enjoy smoking other materials.
